Although it is a fairly stereotypical career for an asian to pursue, I have always had a strong passion to become a physician (preferably pediatric). This passion was developed when I was a young kid at about 5 years old. At that young adolescent age, the world was a very strange and peculiar place, especially the doctor's office. One day, I was at the doctor's office, getting a regular check up. I had no recollection of the place, however, the office felt comforting in a way. I had no idea what a doctor was at all, or at least, I couldn't remember. Anyways, as I waited in the office with my mom at my side, my pediatrician walked into the room with a bright and happy smile on his face, and greeted me with warmth and welcoming. I got a standard check up, but when it was finished, I was excited and enthusiastic about all of the interesting procedures and different tools that the doctor used. As my mom and I walked out of the office, i asked her, "hey mommy, who was that man?!". My mom told me that he was a doctor, a person who cures you sickness and makes sure you are healthy. She also told me that doctors save people's lives in many cases and keeps them away from "bad germies." After that day, I was THRILLED from the idea of saving peoples lives and curing the sick, and from that day on, i knew i wanted to be a doctor.
